Baby Shower Theme Ideas Day Two

Posted by Namely Newborns on Jan 1st 2015

Continuing from yesterday's post, we have another stellar Baby Shower Party Theme. All this week, we will be sharing our favorite whimsical DIY Baby Shower Theme Ideas. Perfect for the mom who has seen it all and loves an intricate gathering of those nearest and dearest to her.

Plantasia!

Plant nursery meets baby nursery in this jungle-y natural theme. Hold this party outdoors for a garden-loving mama.

Tabletops

Plants, plants and more plants. The plants can be gifts for the other shower planners or gifts for the mom-to-be. Depending on where you live, go with local, seasonal plants. Succulents in Arizona, Bromeliads in Florida and Ferns in Washington.

Foods

Seasonal and local! Fresh fruits, fresh veggies. Salads of all types would make for some great themed eats! Heirloom tomato and herb salad, arugula caprese salad or just some fresh mixed greens. Make your own croutons!

Drinks

Go absolutely all out if you want, and serve healthy GREEN drinks. Or if you aren't ga-ga for kale smoothies, gorgeous edible flowers can be frozen in ice cubes for an ultra fabulous take on Mother Nature's nectar, pure H2O! Fill an ice cube tray half way with water. Freeze. Dip edible organic flowers in cold water and place one on each half-cube. Top with water. Freeze! Edible flowers are sold in the produce section of the grocery, in little plastic containers near the fresh herbs. See the link for more info on how to choose the right edible flowers for your fete.

Sweets

Whoopie pies are a great new desert trend and they would make a sweet treat as the cherry on top on this plantastic party! Click on the link for an awesome recipe.

Activities

Everyone can take home a package of seeds, the party is to celebrate birth after all! Then when the baby is born you can all take turns bringing the new parents fresh heirloom tomato pasta sauce for dinner from your garden!

Stay tuned. Tomorrow, more tips on throwing an out of this world baby shower with a littleelbow grease and creativity!
